WHAT IS INDY SPIRITS WEEK?

Welcome to Indy Spirits Week; a seven-day celebration of Indy’s exploding craft cocktail scene. From November 21-27, 2016, restaurants, bars and distilleries have agreed to offer a special $5 craft cocktail. Cheers to that!

Indy Spirits Week is also a fundraiser for Little Red Door.

SPIRITS WEEK PRO-TIPS

GO SOMEWHERE NEW

Don’t go to the same establishments you’d go to anyway. Try somewhere new. Go somewhere you’ve never been before. Drink something awesome, tell your friends about it and come back with them later.

THERE’S A SOLID CHANCE RESTAURANTS WILL RUN OUT OF BOOZE

Expect that the restaurants, bars and distilleries will be busy during Indy Spirits Week. If a place runs out toward the end of a shift, take it like a champ: go back the next day, go earlier, order your drink, and thank them for working hard to do this for you. Please be nice to these establishments. They’re hooking it up big time during Indy Spirits Week.

THERE MAY EVEN BE WAITS

People love a good hand made craft cocktail. And, Indy’s spirits scene has been blowing up lately. So don’t be surprised if there’s a line at the bar. In fact, be pleasantly surprised if there isn’t.

AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY, DRINK SMART!

This event is not about getting smashed. It’s about enjoying different cocktails, at a killer price from some new places and to celebrate Indy’s bartenders during this holiday season. Don’t ruin the fun.

TIP LIKE THE PRO THAT YOU ARE

$5 for a special drink brings out the cheap in all of us. You’re probably getting a $10 drink though. So please tip at least 20%. The people serving you are working very hard during Indy Spirits Week. And kind words will also be welcome – these people are our friends and neighbors.

TRY THE FOOD TOO

Many of the establishments will be offering recommended pairings. Try them. They’re recommending them because they know you’ll like them. You’ll enjoy yourself more, and you’ll be helping out the establishment. Win/win!

CHECK TWITTER, FACEBOOK, AND INSTAGRAM

Restaurants will be encouraged to post their cocktails. You should post pictures of yourself enjoying them. Use the hashtag #IndySpiritsWeek with your images for a chance to win an incredible prize or two!
